The AllJoyn framework will include new services for basic use, aiming to create a truly effective Internet of Things (IoE). With these pre-planned AllJoyn services, manufacturers and developers will be able to utilize higher-level components for some of the most common uses. QuIC expects to release full-featured versions of these core services through an open source license on AllJoyn.org. These services will include:
Terminal deployment- "headless" (headless) terminals or other simpler smart terminals can be easily configured through media such as smartphone applications to be used on users' personal networks.
Notifications— Enables the terminal to play and receive text, image, and multimedia notifications in a standard manner.
Audio streaming— Promotes an interoperable, open wireless audio streaming protocol that allows users to stream music between any manufacturer ’s products.
Control- allows the terminal to output its control interface, including rich graphical elements related to it.
These new core services will join the AllJoyn open source project by May 2013. It is expected that many platforms and products of Qualcomm Technologies will increase the integration support of these services.
