On August 6, 2014, the "2014 Refrigerator Industry User Experience Index Release and Refrigerator Product User Experience Evaluation Press Conference" sponsored by the China Household Electrical Appliances Research Institute was held in Beijing. At the meeting, 15 products of 11 refrigerator manufacturers including Haier, Hisense, Jinghong, Midea, Meiling, Samsung, Xinfei, LG, Sanyo and Siemens passed the evaluation and obtained the “UET” certificate.

In 2014, China's refrigerator industry began to be unfavorable. According to data from China Excel, in the first half of the year, China's refrigerator market retailed 17.25 million units and retail sales reached 43.6 billion yuan, down 10.5% and 8.6% year-on-year respectively. The market experienced serious waterloo, and the refrigerator industry's declining degree has become a foregone conclusion. Unprecedently fierce, the refrigerator industry is facing a new round of battles.

In the embarrassing market environment, the high-end refrigerators that have taken over the replacement requirements have made new opportunities for growth in the industry. Today, consumer demand for refrigerators has not only been limited to refrigeration, freezing, preservation, but also increased new requirements for appearance, space, health, environmental protection, intelligence, and refined management, “fine”, “smart”, and “healthy”. "Beauty" has become the guiding principle for deepening reform and high-end distribution.

However, whether high-end and high-priced products can also bring the same consumer expectations? This statement is not entirely correct. After all, products that meet high-end standards are not necessarily in line with consumer demand, and high performance is not necessarily true. In response, China Household Electrical Appliances Research Institute launched the "user experience evaluation" of the refrigerator.

"User Experience Evaluation (UET)" is initiated by the China Household Electrical Appliance Research Institute and is the only domestic product evaluation system based on user experience established by an industry authority. Its main purpose is to create a fair, fair, and authoritative product evaluation platform that is personally involved by consumers. User Experience Assessment Relying on the independent and professional testing laboratories and user evaluation laboratories of the China Household Electrical Appliances Research Institute, product trials, service surveys, and user-oriented product function/performance performance, use and operation, and design aesthetics are closely related to users. Satisfaction research aims to provide consumers with fair and objective product evaluation information, promote excellent and user-centered products to the society, and hopes to promote the innovation and development of the home appliance industry, improve the quality of life of the people, and promote social progress.

In an embarrassing market environment, returning products to enhance consumer experience is the only way for companies to win over the future and come to the fore.

The refrigerator user experience evaluation activity launched by the China Household Appliances Research User Experience Evaluation Laboratory is aimed at consumers concerned about the product features/performance effects (cooling speed, preservation effect, loading energy consumption), convenience and ease of operation and use. Issues such as usability, layout of interior space, etc., based on "Technical Specifications for User Experience Evaluation of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances" and "Technical Specifications for Performance Testing of Refrigerator UET Items", from product design aesthetics, ergonomics, product use safety, product functions, and The high-end refrigerators were evaluated in terms of performance, sustainability, and user satisfaction. The abstract senses of comfort, convenience, functionality, aesthetics, and environmental protection were expressed in a quantified manner. The promotion of the company’s products and the daily purchases of consumers provide a more intuitive and favorable basis.
