Since last year, domestic investment in LED bracket projects has been commonplace. More LED packaging manufacturers have joined the ranks of LED stent manufacturing, but the comprehensive product performance indicators, the current domestic technology is not mature enough, is still in the development stage.

As is known to all, in addition to the design and properties of stamping parts, white high temperature plastic materials are an important factor affecting product quality and stability. At the same time, with the increase of brightness requirements of LED products, LED products are gradually developing from low power to high power. High-brightness LEDs are in a stage of rapid growth, and the proportion is gradually increasing. It has become a mainstream LED product, and it is matched with surface mount. The LED precision bracket is also upgraded from low power to high power.

At present, the plastic material used for the SMD stent is mainly white PPA material, which is resistant to high temperature welding, high reflection, and good combination with silica gel. However, between the different grades of PPA materials on the market, the letter tolerance, initial brightness, application, and yellowing resistance are also different. Different manufacturers and materials of the same kind may sometimes differ.

This also places more demands on the performance of SMD reflective stent materials.

Material substitution advantage

At present, LEDs can be divided into LED display, LED lighting, LED backlight, automotive lighting applications according to market applications, and different applications have different requirements for materials.

Among them, in addition to the quality of the chip, the display also requires long-term yellowing resistance of the stent material, which can maintain high reflection for a long time without causing rapid decay of brightness due to yellowing of the reflector cup, so the display Most of the screen supports will use long-term materials with good yellowing resistance, instead of just pursuing the initial brightness.

In backlight applications, the technology and process of the bracket are the most difficult. Since electronic products using backlight devices are moving toward miniaturization, weight reduction, thinning, high performance, integration, high density, and high cost performance, some new requirements and technologies have emerged.

“Not only the initial brightness (reflectance) is required, but the more difficult point is that due to the small size of the backlight product, the processing of the material and the process design pose higher challenges. In addition to the hygroscopicity of the material, the support of the stent Air tightness, combined with hardware and silicone, as well as weather resistance and long-term reliability have higher requirements."

Q just said that PA10T is a high heat resistant semi-aromatic polyamide and is a new generation of high temperature resistant nylon products. One of its monomers, sunflower diamine, accounts for about 50 WT% of the total monomer, which is derived from the renewable resource, castor bean. The bio-carbon content of the PA10T material is between 40 WT% and 60 WT%, while the water absorption rate is very low.

“The PA10T developed by Blonde Technology belongs to a new generation of nylon products with high temperature resistance and low water absorption, which can meet the high requirements of LED products.” QI just said that PA10T has undergone three reflows, long time and high temperature. After the ultraviolet treatment, high whiteness and reflectance can still be maintained.

At the same time, the airtightness problem is a common problem in the LED industry, and poor airtightness will affect the quality of LED products. Q Just said that the stent produced by PA10T material can pass the strict red ink penetration test and has good dimensional stability in humid environment.

In addition, the PA10T molecular chain contains a benzene ring and a long flexible long chain of diamine, which gives the polymer molecules moderate flexibility and therefore high crystallization rate and crystallinity, which is suitable for rapid prototyping.
