[High-tech LED News] AkzoNobel of the Netherlands said that it is expanding its core products of trimethylgallium (TMG) and trimethyl indium (TMI) to cope with the global high-purity organic metal (HPMO) Strong demand.
AkzoNobel pointed out that the company is building a large TMG production plant three times the current capacity and a TMI plant four times the current capacity. Two new plants will supply organometallic materials to the global plastics, pharmaceutical and electronics industries.
The new plant has been laid and is under construction. The TMI plant will be completed in December 2011; the TMG plant is scheduled to be completed in 2012, and the TMG plant is expected to supply more than 100 tons of gallium-based metalorganic materials per year after it is put into production.
It is reported that AkzoNobel has claimed to be the world's largest manufacturer of specialty chemical materials HPMO. Its organic materials, such as indium, gallium, aluminum, zinc and magnesium, produced by the Chemicals business unit are key precursors for the production of LEDs, solar cells and other semiconductor devices.
In addition, AkzoNobel is currently strengthening its logistics network in Asia and is committed to creating an efficient global distribution system.
