The boot environment of Windows 10 can be roughly divided into three types: regular boot, clean boot, and hardware clean boot. The default boot method we usually use to start Windows 10 is regular boot. When the system has a problem, if it is difficult to determine the faulty software or hardware part for a while, you need to ask for help with clean boot or even hardware clean boot.

1. What to do if the general boot settings are invalid

For regular boot, we can use the MSCONFIG command to enter the setup program for the necessary configuration. For example: after selecting "normal startup" in the startup options, you can also select the startup sequence of multiple systems and the delay time of the system menu in the "boot" tab.

Although the MSCONFIG command can be used to change the system configuration, sometimes we will find that the setting items in the regular boot will become invalid. When we change a certain boot option, the original option changes back to the next time the computer is started; or some of the general options that should have been valid are grayed out and unavailable.
