Sony said last week that it is developing more than 220 software games and experiences for PS VR, more than 100 of which will be released this year. It is unclear whether this includes applications that have been released in January and February of this year, but estimates should be included.
This does not mean that the 220 items are games. PS VR also has a host of other types of content, such as the previously released 360-degree panoramic video center and VR music video. However, the development of new content is still welcomed by players, who worry that the current lack of content in PS VR represents Sony's future policy direction.
Sony also pointed out some of the names of games being developed in the press release, including "Ace Combat 7", "Final Fantasy 15", "Gran Turismo Sport", shooting games "Farpoint", "Tekken 7", robot fighting games Steel Combat. Among them, the first three games only support the optional extra VR mode, they are not completely VR games. Whether Tekken 7 is a comprehensive VR game remains to be seen.
Sony also confirmed that as of February 19 this year, 100 games have been released for PSVR. Sony has previously announced that since its launch in October 2016, PS VR sales have reached a total of 915,000 units, and it is hoped to reach the goal of selling 1 million units by April.
PSVR's next masterpiece will be the multiplayer shooter Starblood Arena, which will be released in April. In May, Sony also launched the first-person shooter game "Farpoint", and will also launch an aiming controller Aim Controller.
