On October 26th, Nikkei BP reported that “Lighting Fair 2009†(International Lighting Exhibition) was held from October 7 (Wednesday) to September 9 (Friday) at the COEX Conference and Exhibition Center in Seoul, South Korea. There are 98 exhibitors. In South Korea, it may also be affected by the flu, and the number of participants is small, which makes people feel that expectations are somewhat frustrated. However, as LED illuminators are of interest, companies have exhibited the latest products.

South Korea is implementing KS certification for LED lighting equipment. Recently, five companies have received KS certification since September 16. Kumho Electric Inc. is Korea's largest lighting company and has also received KS certification. The certified products are "LED PAR16", "LED PAR38" and "LED PAR30" certified by KS C 7651 (inverter built-in LED lighting) and KS C 7652 (inverter external type) LED lighting) certified MR16 a total of 4 products.

In addition, Hansol LCD, a large-scale LED backlight manufacturer supplied to South Korea's Samsung Electronics, also entered the LED lighting business under the brand name “SUPIS†and participated in the exhibition. The technology for developing power modules and high efficiency LEDs has also been effectively applied.

Lighting company Solux has also been involved in the LED lighting industry since 2008. Although sales were zero last year, it is expected to achieve sales of approximately 3 billion won in 2009.
