The Wireless Power Transmission Working Group of the Japan Broadband Wireless Forum has developed guidelines for wireless power supply. The use scenario assumes that "the power of 50 W or less is transmitted to a mobile phone or the like within a distance of 10 cm" (utilizing scene 1). Here are some of the main points of the guide.

Purpose and positioning
This guide sets out the basics that operators of wirelessly powered products and services should follow in order to facilitate the development of products and services that comply with this requirement, allowing users to safely utilize wireless power.
This guide aims to realize the early practical use of wireless power supply technology. Therefore, the scope, conditions, and regulations of the object are limited to this purpose.
Application range
The scope of application is limited to wireless power transmission products with the following properties.
·Power supply does not exceed 50W
·The power transmission distance is within 10cm
· Utilization frequency is 10 kHz to 10 MHz, 13.56 MHz band (ISM band), 27.12 MHz band (ISM band), 40.67 MHz band (ISM band)
· Follow current radio wave method that does not restrict the use of products and wireless power supply
In the current Japanese radio wave law, Article 100, Item 1 specifies the high-frequency utilization equipment that requires permission. The guidelines developed by the Broadband Wireless Forum are for products that are not subject to the “high-speed use of equipment without permission†as specified in Article 100, paragraph 1 of the Radio Wave Act (Figure B-1).

Figure B-1: Control signal uses a different radio frequency than the power supply
In the radio wave method prescribed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan, in order to obtain the certification of "high-frequency use equipment", it is necessary to use a frequency communication different from the frequency used for wireless power supply. If the same frequency is used, it may be considered a "wireless communication device."
â— Conditions for unlicensed high frequency equipment
1 High-frequency equipment other than communication equipment, high-frequency energy below 50W
2 Inductive communication equipment (a device that communicates by using induced waves generated when a high-frequency current of 10 kHz or more is flowing on the line), and an electric field intensity of λ/2π distance is 15 μV/m or less
